Please note: all measurements are approximate. Nominal tree height is when planted in a standard 10-inch to 12-inch tall nursery liner. When planted in other planters, we attempt to maintain the nominal height within a few inches, but when planted in much taller or pedestaled planters, the combined height of that tree/planter combination must necessarily increase to accommodate the planter height difference; otherwise the conformation of the tree must be unacceptably shortened. This would particularly limit layered topiaries, plants or trees.

Example: when planted in a 28-inch tall planter, the overall height of a 6-foot (72-inch) tree must necessarily increase roughly 16-inch to 18-inch to approximately 7-foot to 7.5-foot. The amount of height gain varies for each tree/planter combination and may sometimes be offset somewhat by the tree designer, but the rule is that the tree must gain in height the approximate difference in its planter height over the liner height.
