But when planted in a tall or pedestaled planter, the overall tree height must necessarily increase to accommodate that considerable difference in planter height, otherwise, the conformation of the tree must be unacceptably compressed. Example: when planted in a 28 inch tall planter, the height of a 6 foot (72 inch) tree must increase up to 16-18 inch, otherwise the original conformation of the tree cannot be maintained. This is especially true of layered topiaries, floor plants, or trees.
